Event Specific Details

1200m

  • Three lap race that will start (waterfall start) at the 100 m finish line.
  • Due to timing restrictions, the top 5 runners will receive a time.

800m

  • Three lap race that will start (waterfall start) at the 100 m finish line.
  • Due to timing restrictions, the top 5 runners will receive a time.

100m

  • Group two runners will not be permitted to know the results of group one.
  • Each runner will compete in two timed heats.
  • This is a timed result event. Runner’s best time, regardless of which heat it came from, will be their recorded result.
  • The start will not include the use of blocks.
  • Event operators may choose to run a third heat, if time permits.
  • Third heat times will only be included in the results, if both groups are given the opportunity to run a third heat.

4x100m Relay

  • Coach selected teams will be called to the start/finish lines for relays.
  • Team members do not need to be indicated before the event.
  • Operators will not permit a team to enter the staging area if they have more or less than four runners.
  • It is the coach’s responsibility to organize their team.
  • The event will not wait for late arrivals or teams that are not ready.
  • Due to timing restrictions, each heat will have the top five lane times recorded.

Long Jump / Triple Jump

  • Group two jumpers will not be permitted to know the results of group one.
  • Each jumper will be given two attempts. Their longest jump will be recorded, regardless of which attempt it came from.
  • Event operators may choose to allow a third attempt, if time permits.
  • Third attempts will only be included in the results, if both groups are given the opportunity for a third attempt.

Javelin

  • Group two throwers will not be permitted to know the results of group one.
  • Athletes will be allowed two attempts.Their longest throw will be recorded, regardless of which attempt it came from.
  • Event operators may choose to allow a third attempt, if time permits.
  • Third attempts will only be included in the results, if both groups are given the opportunity for a third attempt.
  • Implement Weights:
    • 7B Javelin: 500 g
    • 7G Javelin: 400 g

Discus/Shot Put

  • Group two throwers will not be permitted to know the results of group one.
  • Only throwing from a stationary or standing position will be accepted. The glide or spin technique is not allowed.
  • Athletes will be allowed two attempts.Their longest throw will be recorded, regardless of which attempt it came from.
  • Event operators may choose to allow a third attempt, if time permits.
  • Third attempts will only be included in the results, if both groups are given the opportunity for a third attempt.
  • Throwers are not permitted to touch the top of the rim of the throwing circle, but can touch the inside edge of it.
  • An attempt is considered a foul if the athlete touches the top of the rim or touches the ground outside the circle during their throwing motion.
  • Athletes should not leave the circle until the throw lands and they must exit out the back of the circle.(Warnings only. Non-disqualification.
  • Implement Weights:
    • 7B Shot Put: 3 Kg
    • 7G Shot Put: 3 Kg
    • 7B Discus: 1 Kg
    • 7G Discus: 750 g

High Jump

  • Group two jumpers will not be permitted to know the results of group one.
  • Jumpers must take off using one foot, not two. Two foot take offs will not count for scoring, but will count as an attempt.
  • Jumpers who are present at the beginning of the event will be given warm up jumps with no bar in place, if time permits.
  • The bar will initially be raised by 5 cm increments.
  • Once the field is smaller, the event operators, with communication to athletes, will increase at increments to suit the remaining jumpers.
  • Athletes will receive three attempts at a height. They may choose to pass when it is their turn, but this will count as an attempt.
  • When an athlete’s name is called, they are expected to initiate their jump within 20 seconds, before the attempt counts as a miss.
  • A balk attempt (running to the bar, but not attempting a jump) does not result in a failed attempt. The jumper’s clock does not reset on a balk. They still must initiate their jump within the original 20 seconds.
  • A jumper must clear the previous height to move on to the next.
    • 7B High Jump Starting Height: 120 cm
    • 7G High Jump Starting Height: 115 cm
